As we all know, Winter is just around the corner. The season that created the couch potato. It's the time of the year that most people seem to grow couches out of their behinds and watch television for hours, shoveling highly processed, sugary comfort foods into their pie hole without even realizing it.

We tend to get lazy, and our months of weight loss efforts slide to the back burner. When Summer arrives, we can't understand how all of our clothes magically shrunk in the closet.

It is vital, on our weight loss journey, not to let these months hinder us from our goals and set us back. It's amazing how little time it takes to sabotage everything we've worked so hard to achieve.

You can avoid the winter weight loss sabotage by keeping healthy foods in your cupboards and refrigerator. Keep stocked up on fruits and vegetables and try to limit fast food to once-a-never! If you absolutely must get fast food, most chains have healthy options like salad, fruit, and grilled chicken.

I have a very healthy, inexpensive chili recipe that I would like to share with all of you. Not only is it healthy, but it is delicious, filling, and perfect for warming any heart during the cold months ahead.

Turkey Chili Recipe:

2 lbs. white ground turkey - 97%-99% fat-free
1 can tomato sauce 29oz.
1 can Bush's red chili beans in medium sauce 16oz.
2 oz. whole wheat spaghetti
1/8 c. Mexene Chili Powder (no substitutes compare!)
Salt
Black Pepper
Cayenne Pepper (optional)
Jalapenos (optional)

Directions: Cook ground turkey thoroughly. Strain liquid. While the turkey is cooking in a large pot add tomato sauce. Fill tomato sauce can with water and add to pot. Add chili beans. Fill bean can with water and add to pot. Bring to boil. Add spaghetti and cook until al-dente. Add strained ground turkey. Season to taste with Mexene Chili powder, salt, black pepper, and Cayenne pepper. Add jalapenos if desired. If you add the jalapenos cook for about 10 minutes after adding them.

I hope you all enjoy this recipe as much as I do! And don't forget to get up and move during these cold months! Turn on a fun fitness video, or bundle up and take a jog in the park. Just because it's cold doesn't mean we have to become Hermits!
